Learning Intention:
Watch me do some measuring in the video below.
For this activity you will need:
1 small jug or cup
2 larger containers to compare
Numbers
*Use the small jug to carefully fill each of the containers, counting how many jug fulls you need each time.
*Put a number next to the container so that your child does not forget how many they had counted.
*Compare the 2 numbers to find out which container has the greatest capacity. Which one holds more water? How do you know?
Top Tip:
It may be useful to give your child an opportunity to practise pouring and filling with the jug first. This will make the activity more accurate but will also be valuable for developing their hand eye co-ordination.
