Information for parents of children starting Reception in September 2019
Thank you for enrolling your child in E P Collier's foundation stage. We are very much looking forward to meeting you and your children and getting to know you all. We understand that starting school is a very busy time for everybody so please familiarise yourself with these dates.
Tuesday 25th June - parents introductory talk 6pm. During this talk we will share lots of information with you about the starting school process. It's a great opportunity for us to meet one another and for you to ask any questions you may have. This meeting is for the parents rather than the children and we ask that you please let the school know whether or not you are able to attend. You may have already done this by returning a reply slip back to the office, but if not please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thursday 4th July - Stay and play session 1:30-2:30. This is a session for you and your child to meet the staff and other new starters.
Thursday 11th July - Stay and play session 9:30 - 11am. During this session parents are encouraged to leave their child. There will be coffee provided for parents should you wish to stay and meet other new parents and remain on site.
In addition to the school visits we are also able to offer a home visit. These will take place during the first two weeks of September. There will be an opportunity to arrange this at the parents meeting on 25th June.
Week beginning Monday 9th September - Morning visit sessions. This is the week before your child starts reception. During this week we will invite your child to come for a final visit during the morning. In order to ensure a smooth transition for all children, please be aware that your child may not start school on a full time basis until the 19th September. Further details of the transition arrangements and individual start dates will be available at the introductory meeting on 25th June.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you feel your child has any additional needs or require any special arrangements to be made for their learning, as we may need to make changes to staffing provision.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our school!
