Not In Use: HOME LEARNING

Please check here for daily updates on what we are learning at school and how you can support your child at home...

A considerable amount of our time in EYFS is spent in child initiated play, discussion and practical activities that develop the seven areas of learning. The following however outlines the explicit teacher led sessions that have been taught in school. Please ensure that your child keeps up with these where possible and reads on a daily basis.

Thursday 4th March

Happy World Book Day everyone!

Today we are celebrating all our favourite books. Take a look at the photos of the story characters and see if you can guess who is wearing the costumes! Can you guess which characters we are dressed up as?

Take a look at what we got up to on No Screens Day 3.2.21. We have been very busy Puffins!

The Topic Challenge!

Along with each topic we will post here some practical and fun activities that children can engage in together with their families, either throughout the week or at the weekend. Let us know what you think...

February half term/ pancake day activities

Making playdough at home

Wake Up!

In Puffin class we do this dance first thing every morning (sometimes twice)! The children know it really well and never tire of it! They might like to continue with this routine at home.

Home play

Below are some examples of free play activities we facilitate in EYFS at E P Collier. Please use these ideas to assist your child to play purposefully at home in between the adult lead learning sessions. Exploration and play are paramount to children's development and so should be valued equally to the more structured learning sessions.

Let your child choose which type of play to engage in during different parts of the day, or help them to plan their own timetable (subject to the resources you and your child have access to at home). This will help them to plan and think more deeply about their play.
