In English this term, pupils will develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills through a rich range of engaging texts linked to our theme Our Beautiful World. Children will read a variety of fiction and non‑fiction texts, build their understanding of vocabulary, language features and text structure, and practise writing for different purposes and audiences.

Throughout the term, pupils will explore how writers inform, entertain and engage their readers. They will research fascinating real‑world topics, such as ancient civilisations and natural events, and use their learning to write clear information texts, reports and newspaper articles. Alongside this, pupils will enjoy imaginative stories from different cultures, helping them to develop creativity, empathy and confidence when sharing ideas through discussion and writing.
