A picnic for Puffin and Narwhal

A picnic for Puffin and Narwhal part 2

We gave Narwhal the plate with more apples and we gave Puffin the plate with fewer apples. Can you remember why? How many apples did each of them have?

Look at the foods on each plate. Can you decide which plates we should give to Puffin and which plates we should give to Narwhal? Remember Narwhal is large so he needs more food to fill his tummy. Puffin is little so he needs less food than Narwhal. When you have decided how to share out the plates can you explain why using our key words: big, bigger, small, smaller, more, less, fewer.
Why not have a picnic of your own at home and invite a big toy and a small toy to play. Can you practise giving the bigger toy more food and the smaller toy less food to match their size? Can you explain to your toys why one of them has more/ less than the other?
