*LIVE* Thursday

I'M AFRAID THE LIVE MEET UP WILL NEED TO BE DELAYED. I WILL SEND OUT INVITES AS SOON AS THIS GOES AHEAD.

Discussion/Topic Activities:

Today I would like you to have a think about the story we read yesterday "After The Storm". Watch the video below so you can enjoy the story again. It lasts for about 25 minutes.

Can you tell your parents about the story. Use these questions to help...

  • Can you remember, what a Park Keeper is?
  • Why could Percy not sleep?
  • Did Percy like storms? How did he feel?
  • What did Percy find when he got up the next morning?
  • What is a wheelbarrow?
  • Why were the animals feeling worried and sad?
  • Percy had a good idea. What was his idea?
  • The animals worked together. How did they help each other?
  • What was the last job that Percy had to do? Why do you think he did this?
Phonics for Today

Maths for Today

Watch the video here and see if you can play a similar game at home. Please only use numbers up to 10 initially. It will be easier for your child to grasp the concepts involved if you stick to smaller numbers initially.

Daily Challenge

We would like you to have a think about colours. How many different colours can you think of? Perhaps you could do a colour hunt around your house or even outside on a walk. Choose a colour and then see how many things you can find of that colour? How could you keep count if you run out of fingers? Could you use paper and pencil to help you keep count?

If you have any paints at home perhaps you would like to try this challenge. Can you find out for me what colours you can make if you mix them together? If you don't have any paints perhaps food colouring or even colouring pens might work.

Can you bring your colours to our morning chat to show me, perhaps you could draw or paint a picture of the tree that Percy made for the animals in our story?  Next week we will be talking about rainbows so we might need to make some of these colours again for that.
