In our RE lessons, children will learn that symbols and stories play an important role in religions because they help people understand and remember key beliefs and teachings in meaningful and memorable ways. Religious stories often explain important events, values and lessons, helping believers make sense of the world and guide their actions. Symbols, such as those used at Easter in Christianity, carry deep meaning. For example, the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ reminds Christians of hope, new beginnings and the promise of eternal life. Eggs are also a well-known Easter symbol, representing new life and fresh starts, as new life emerges from an egg. Together, these stories and symbols help believers express their faith and pass their beliefs on to future generations.
