In Year 1, children begin to explore the exciting world of numbers and mathematical thinking in more depth. We follow the White Rose Maths scheme, which provides a carefully structured and progressive approach to developing a deep understanding of maths concepts.

Throughout the year, children build confidence with key number skills such as counting, addition and subtraction, place value and number bonds. They will also be introduced to topics including shape, measurement, time, money and simple fractions.
