Topic: Seasonal changes

In Year 1 Geography, we will look at the four seasons throughout the year and look at how the weather and environment change as the seasons progress. 

This term, we will be learning all about Autumn. Children will explore the key features of the season, including:

• How the weather changes.

• How daylight hours begin to shorten.

• The changes that we see in nature, such as falling leaves and animals preparing for Winter.

Learning about the seasons will continue across the year, helping children to notice and describe the changes in their local environment throughout Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer.
