This term in Art, our Year 1 topic is sculpture in the local area. We will be taking inspiration from the world around us.

The children will:

• Explore local sculptures-looking at different examples of 3D art in our local area and discussing the shapes, materials and ideas behind them.

• Investigate shape and form- learning how different shapes and forms are used in sculpture to create interesting designs.

• Record and develop ideas- through drawing, discussion and experimentation.

• Create their own 3D sculpture- using recycled materials, the children will plan, build and join materials together to create a sculpture inspired by their surroundings.
