What are things made of?
After half term, our Science topic will be 'What are things made of?', where we will be learning about everyday materials and their simple physical properties.
Children will be:
Naming common materials such as wood, plastic, metal, glass, fabric and brick.
Identifying the material objects are made from.
Distinguishing between an object and the material it is made of.
Exploring the properties of different materials, such as whether they are hard, soft, stretchy or rigid, waterproof or absorbent.
This topic helps the children begin to understand the materials around them and why certain materials are used for specific purposes.
