    This Spring term. We will continue to follow the White Rose scheme of work.

    We will begin by focussing on numbers up to 20, developing children's understanding of place value. This will include recognising numbers, counting forwards and backwards, understanding tens and ones. The children will also work on addition and subtraction within 20, using practical equipment, number lines and pictorial representations to support their understanding.

    Later we will cover measurement, including units on length and height, and mass and volume. The children will learn to compare, measure and describe different objects using appropriate mathematical language such as longer, shorter, heavier, lighter, full and empty.
