In the Spring Term, our Year 2 children will continue to follow the White Rose Maths scheme, building confidence and fluency across key areas of the curriculum. We will focus on multiplication and division, learning to recognise equal groups, use arrays and recall the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Children will also explore length and height, and mass, measuring and comparing using standard units. Later in the term, we will move on to fractions, learning to find and recognise halves, quarters and thirds of shapes and quantities. Throughout all units, we will use practical resources, visual models and reasoning activities to deepen understanding and help children explain their thinking clearly and confidently.
