  • Geography Autumn

At the beginning of each term, children will learn about the season we are in—Autumn, Spring or Summer—and use a wide range of vocabulary to describe the weather and changes they observe. They will explore words such as cold, warm and hot to describe temperature, and learn to identify different types of weather including rain, drizzle, showers, sleet, hail and snow. The children will also discuss weather features such as sun, cloud, wind, storms, thunder and lightning, as well as fog and mist. Through observation and discussion, they will develop their understanding of how the seasons affect the environment around them, building confidence in using accurate and descriptive weather vocabulary.
