During the Summer Term, Year 1 pupils will continue to develop their reading and writing skills. We will use a range of engaging texts to support our learning, including Greta and the Giants, The Bear and the Piano, Alan's Big Scary Teeth and Wolves. 

The children will continue to practise simple sentences using capital letters and full stops and finger spaces. They will also work on extending their ideas using the conjunction 'and'. The children will write for a range of different purposes, such as stories, descriptions and simple factual writing.
