Making Bread with Cater Link

We had the privilege of getting some hands on experience of making, shaping, baking and (most importantly) tasting our own bread - demonstrated by a chef from Caterlink. In addition, we also learned all about the origins of bread and popular breads of many different regions.

Eagles Trip to Baylab

We were given the wonderful opportunity to visit Baylab, located in Green Park, and take part in some exciting and engaging activities that developed our scientific knowledge and ignited our curiousity. The activities in this session were developed to link with the UKS2 National Curriculum in science. In the first part of the session, we learned about DNA and the genetic code. We then used this knowledge to construct part of a gene using K'Nex. We were then shown how to extract DNA and were even able to extract our own, which we got to keep as a souvenir!

Design Technology

Using our scientifc knowledge of electrical circuits we designed and constructed our own steady hand game. The aim of the game is to navigate a wire loop along a bent wire course, without touching them together and completing the circuit. If the metal loop touches the wire course, the circuit will be complete and will cause a buzzer to sound/light to come on. We considered who our target audience for this game was, looked at 'form vs function' and then evaluated how well we did.
