Nursery 2024-2025

28.2.25

We have been enjoying learning about this week's topic:

dinosaurs

We took care of a toy dinosaur egg and, over the course of the week, a baby dinosaur hatched from it! The children wanted to experiment with other toy eggs by placing them in water to see if they hatched out too. We discussed how some other animals (e.g. hens) keep their eggs warm and dry to hatch them.

When we discovered the dinosaur had hatched one child explained "At night time baby hatch egg."

We have been comparing dinosaurs by their height and length. We discovered that some dinosaurs were as long as 2 buses!

29.11.24

Yesterday we had 2 special visitors in Wren class! Police Community Support Officers Nikki and Kathie from Thames Valley Police came to speak to us about their jobs. They showed us their uniforms and some of their equipment. They read us a story about their colleague PC Ben, and they even let us try on their jackets and hats!

PC Ben - Full version

The full PC Ben story-book for children, read by the author David Bullock as presented to school-children across the Thames Valley area by officers from their local Neighbourhood Policing Team. 2nd September 2024

Hello! And welcome to Wren class.

We are looking forward to meeting all the new children who are joining us this term, and getting to know you and your families.

The teachers in Nursery are Miss Smith and Miss Knight and the Early Years Practitioner is Mrs Kayani.

We look forward to seeing you at our new parents talk on Tuesday 3rd September. Please see the powerpoint below if you'd like to revisit the information shared during the talk. In the meantime please familiarise yourselves with our nursery transition booklet and share it together at home. The children may like to look at the photos of their new nursery before and after their first visits.

Warmest regards,

The nursery team.
