School Meals

School Food and Meals

School lunches are provided by Caterlink and the children can choose from a selection of nutritious meals each day.  Meals cost £2.41 per day for children in Years 3 - 6; children in Years Reception - 2 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal.

If your child has any special dietary needs please discuss these with the school office so that the kitchen can be informed.

Children from Reception to Year 6 select their meal options from the menus available online.  There is a main and vegetarian option every day.

Meals need to be ordered online using ParentPay.  Menus are available online and meal choices can be made and paid for until 8am on the day that you would like your child to have a school lunch.

If your child is eligible for free school meals or Universal Infant Free School Meals it will still be necessary to select meals online using ParentPay, however, there is no need to 'check out' and pay but choices must be saved.

If you would like any help using ParentPay or do not have online access, please contact the school office who will be happy to assist.

Free School Meals

Children may be entitled to a free school meal.  Parents and Carers need to register with the school office three times a year.

If you are eligible to register for free school meals but your child selects a packed lunch please continue to register your child for free school meals as the school can access additional funding for the school for every child entitled to a free school meal.  This is an easy process - please ask at the school office for a form which will need to be completed and returned to school three times a year (September, January and April) for your entitlement to continue.

We recommend to parents that a hot school meal is the best option.

Packed lunches are stored until lunchtime.  We recommend a good balance of protein, dairy, fresh fruit or vegetables and a drink (not fizzy.)  Children are expected to manage the packaging without help.  We ask children not to share their meal with a friend and to leave uneaten food in their lunch box so that you are aware how much they have eaten during the day.

Healthy Snacks

All children in the Nursery, Reception and Key Stage One have a piece of fruit every day provided free, by the fruit and vegetable scheme.  From Year 3 children have the option to bring a healthy snack to school to be eaten at playtime.

Universal Infant Free School Meals

All Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are entitled to a free hot school meal provided by the school kitchen.  These meals will need to be selected online via ParentPay; there will be no need to 'check out' and pay but choices must be saved.
